Condition
Style: As a disciple of Horii Toshihide, the forging of the iron is intricate, and he boasts high technical skill, including the Sagami school style and pine bark skin (matsukawahada) that imitates Etchu Norishige.

Navy swordsmith: During the war, he forged many swords for the naval officers (senior officers).

Background
Master's Lineage:
Studied under Masatsugu Sakurai. In 1939 (Showa 14), he became a disciple of master swordsmith Toshihide Horii. He was also a student of Akihide Kurihara, and is sometimes ranked as "inspector-grade" (the highest rank) in the modern sword grading system.
